My inner strength grew as I continued my daily journey to recovery. I no longer saw myself as irreparably damaged and defective. Each day I approached food by asking myself, “Is what I am eating in my own best interest? ” I have come to realize that when I act in my own best interest, it is in the best interest of everyone I love. I realized that this process would take time and be very uncomfortable in the beginning.
I started bicycling in 2008, and started losing a lot of weight. Part of my diet plan was to stop eating at all after about 3pm.
They reduce your body’s production of gastric acids. Unlike some other medications, you only need to take them once a day to prevent symptoms. One can either increase it to two times per day, or increase the morning dose to 40 mg. The prokinetic agent metoclopramide (2.5-5.0 mg), 30 minutes before meals, can sometimes be helpful to decrease the frequency of reflux or unintentional vomiting. Presumably, it acts on the central “emetic” centre or via raising the tone of the lower oesophageal sphincter (Wood, Shega, Lynch, & vonRoenin, 2007). Most of these sensitivities and IBS will resolve with refeeding, so give it time.

Rather than focusing on all the foods you should avoid you should instead focus on all of the foods that can help lessen GERD symptoms. If you suffer from GERD then you probably know certain foods, especially citrus fruits can aggravate the condition. But what about foods that can lessen GERD? Here is a list of 20 foods that don’t aggravate GERD symptoms whatsoever. When you have bulimia you tend to eat very quickly, consume a lot of food in one sitting during a binge, become stressed and anxious at meal times and not really focus on chewing your food.
It is worth every daily effort I have made to get well, and to live the life I always wanted, with dignity and respect for myself and others. I continued to go to the 12-step program throughout my bulimia recovery, and found spiritual strength in those meetings. I found hope that awakened me to the power of the mercy and grace of God. I came to believe that He could help restore me to spiritual and physical health. I began to pray more and ask God every day to help me live in recovery and abstinence from my addictions.

I’m 36 years old now and I’ve only had to be on meds twice since I was 22. Even if I have a ‘cheat’ day I don’t suffer any set backs like I did when I was younger and on meds. Never underestimate the power of a good workout.
